Here are two beautiful gals who each bought the same sexy black US made dress! I can't remember if they were sisters or cousins, but they were sweet and lovely!

Now this is a beautiful 1950's dress! And what a sweet gal she is as well. This dress is a brownish purple with tiny buttons at the collar, a lovely piece of history. She looks so beautiful, and the little blue vintage flower pin she bought to wear with the dress, perfect!
I have the coolest customers.

Holiday Dresses!!

Here is a pretty gal in one of our new US made holiday dresses. She also bought the lovely vintage necklace that looks perfect with the dress! I adore the color green of this dress, we also have a rich blue and a soft gold in different styles by the same company!

Classic Girl

Here is a beautiful gal in her new 1950's coat! Such a classic look this style of coat is, forever lovely and feminine.

Oh how I loved this dress, I miss it sparkling in my window! This sweet gal looked so beautiful in it, I was happy it went to such a good home. I only wish I had my camera that day, this photo was taken with a phone, and you can't see the details of the dress. Details like silver thread sewn among the nude color lace, the chocolate brown velvet collar that meets at the back and hangs down so elegantly. I hope she sends me a better photo of this dress, just lovely.

Dresses Designed by a Former Bunny

I have a friend who was a Bunny at the NYC Playboy club in the 1960's and I've posted photos of her in bunny attire earlier on the blog. She has started to design clothing, and here is one of her dresses, a velvet, paisley, sparkly number! This sexy gal in the photo is wearing it; she fell in love with it immediately and had to have it! We also have some fun skirts designed by our beautiful bunny mother and they're all made here in NYC!

I Heart The 70's

Here is one of my favorite gals in her new 1970's corduroy long trench coat. This is such a great piece, amazing 70's collar, pretty pocket details, and quite a full swing bottom to it. The color is beautiful on her, well so is everything she ever tries on!

Meet Mr. Buttons

We have a new employee at Dusty Buttons! His name is Mr. Buttons. We adopted him a month ago and have been busy loving him and trying to have him not bark at other dogs! My husband and I seem to only talk about Mr. Buttons, our friends are a little bored with our conversations! His days at the shop are Tues-Thurs, if you would like to meet Mr. Buttons!

Beautiful new granny boots, made in Colombia!

Here is the a sweet gal in her new boots. They are a eco-friendly line from Columbia. They use natural vegetable dyes and natural latex for the heels which makes them amazingly comfortable! We had them in black but sold out, still have some brown left, I hope I can still reorder these beauties!

Here is my favorite gal again in her new frocks! The first one is a 1960's amazing floral foil dress, so beautiful. The second is a 1980's peplum sequined dress, ultra sexy!

New fall boots

Here is a beautiful leggy gal in her new boots.
We just got these boots in, they are a company from Spain very popular in Barcelona. You can wear them high like a granny boot or folded down to show the plaid liner. We also have them in black!

Free Balloons!!

On a trip recently we found this adorable girl giving out free balloons. She was so sweet I had to ask her for a photo! I wonder if she woke up that morning and thought, I know I will give away balloons today!

Perfect fall dress

Here is a beautiful 1960's pleated cotton dress that now belongs to this lovely gal. I adore the autumn colors in this dress, makes me think of New England in October.
Tennyson's romantic words comes to mind-

Ahhh vintage..... My gal has on her two new 1960's frocks and a pair of shoes from one of our new shoe lines from Brazil.
She makes me want to weep yet again, everything is always so beautiful on her. That blue dress, that lemon yellow dress with rhinestones......What a figure! And she could not be sweeter! Thanks for loving vintage and being so fab my dear! You make me adore what I do.

sweetest red cowboy boots ever

Here is a lovely gal in her new US made dress and her new vintage cowboy boots! These boots are so sweet, everyone wanted them, but they are a 5 and half! I can only dream of having such small feet......

My kind of girl!

Here is a fun gal! She left buying the second dress, the safety pin dress (a new US made one), I named it 'Nancy's dress'(Sid would have approved) and the lovely red 1970's boots in the first photo. But she put the outfit together in the first photo herself, it is a blue military style short dress (one of my new US made ones), and a vintage 1980's floral skirt over it. Oh how I adore the creative gals, they are so much more fun.... You rock my dear!

Mad Hatter party in the Park

Days like these make me love living in the East Village! Walking home from Dusty's I came across a Mad Hatter party. They were having so much fun I could not help but smile and take photos. Happy to see people are still creative and fun!

1960's Lace Dress

Here is a sweet gal that bought a beautiful 1960's lace dress. She looks amazing in it! She sent me a photo because I forgot my camera yet again! Thank you so much for sending it. It is even more fun to see the dresses I sell out in the world. Looks like a fun little art show as well.

Sorry I have not posted for so long. It has been a busy fun summer!
Here is one of my favorite gals, the first photo is her with her new 1960's summer purse and 1960's flower necklace. I had the earrings to match once but some terrible little person stole them from the shop. They were one of a kind, so let's hope I don't find them on some rude girl one night, because I will take them back!
In the second photo my gal is wearing her new 1960's white cotton floral dress, this dress has an amazing see through handmade lace middle. She is the perfect shape for vintage, everything always fits! Every time she comes in we have so much fun, thanks for adoring vintage and being so cool my dear!

Girl's weekend!

My girls were in town for the clothing show! We had a great time. I ordered some hats like the one I am wearing in the photos. Beautiful Canadian made hats and veils. We found some beautiful US made dresses as well for the shop as well.
Lots of silly fun was had!

J' adore Paris

The last of the cutest striped dresses! The designer stopped cutting this dress, not sure why it was oh so Parisian and sweet! I am going to the Fame show on Monday to search for more US made dresses. Will be strange to be thinking of fall and winter clothing when it is so hot out.

Jersey Shore

OK, I know this is a blog about Dusty Buttons but I had to share a little more! We went to the Jersey Shore and the fashion was like nothing I had ever seen before! Girls in heels at the beach, men with giant shaved chests. I had to snap a few photos. It makes me want to see the show Jersey Shore! Men, keep your chest hair it seems creepy when you shave it. The first photo is my honey and I laughing, now that is a sexy hairy chest! Hee hee...

This dress the one in the middle of the window, makes me want to become a designer! I wept a little when I sold it. The gal who bought it was made for it though, just beautiful. The attached scarf so feminine.......Every woman should have a dress this lovely. I did take a polaroid of her in it, and she has promised to send me a photo as well. Till then.....

The Coolest Playboy Bunny Ever!!

These are some fun photos of my neighbor, she owns a cute store across from me called Miss Elle's Belles. These photos were taken when she was the bunny mother at the Playboy Club here in NYC in the 60's and 70's. She is so beautiful, talented, and filled with great stories! Stop by her store for lovely handmade finds!

My 4x8 piece of heaven in NYC! Wish my Mom could visit the garden she would adore it. I think of her everyday I am in the garden.
